MSU experts give tips on crop, equipment selection
GOODMAN – Commercial growers, farmers and home gardeners can get advice on the best crops to grow and the best equipment to use during the final field day of a year-long series at the Alliance for Sustainable Agricultural Production Demonstration Farm in Goodman.
On Dec. 13, experts from the Mississippi State University Extension Service will discuss crop selection, seed acquisition, and equipment selection, acquisition and maintenance.
The field day begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m. Growers of all experience levels are welcome. Attendance is free, but preregistration is required. Lunch and materials will be provided.

The Alliance for Sustainable Agricultural Production Demonstration Farm is located at 1184 Coleman Road off of Highway 51 between Goodman and Durant in Holmes County.
The MSU Extension Service, Alcorn State University’s Extension Program and Tougaloo College produced the 2013 series with funds from the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce and a U.S. Department of Agriculture Specialty Crop Grant.
