My mattress is damp. Can I save it?

Usually mattresses are discarded, but if the outside is only slightly damp, brush off surface soil and wipe with a clean cloth dipped in diluted alcohol (one cup denatured or rubbing alcohol to one cup water) to discourage mildew.
