4-H Junior Master Wellness Volunteers Program will equip youth with health messages that help improve health literacy and lead to choices and lifestyle changes for a healthier Mississippi.

The 4-H Kayaking program will teach youth about the outside world around them.

The 4-H Kitchen Science Club program will use everyday items from the kitchen to engage youth in basic chemistry, physics, and biology.

The LEGO Engineering Club program will enable 4-H Cloverbuds to use the engineering design process through building with LEGO blocks, as well as to learn teamwork and communication skills.

 

The LEGO Engineering Club: Enchanted Tales program will engage the imagination of youth by having them design and construct elements from beloved fairy tales.

I Can with 4-H is the fourth volume in the LEGO Engineering Club series and focuses on teaching youth how to be good citizens.

The LEGO Engineering Club: On the Farm program will provide hands-on learning in STEM and develop agricultural literacy knowledge in youth.

 

4-H Livestock Quality Assurance for youth producers will increase food safety awareness by educating youth producers about their role in this process and the importance of raising their livestock appropriately.

4-H Poultry Chain Project will provide 4-H youth, parents, volunteers, agents, and the public with a guide on the “how-tos” of the poultry chain project.

The 4-H Sport Fishing program is a hands-on program that teaches youth new skills and outdoor experiences.

4-H STEM at the State Fair is a fun way for 4-H youth to learn the science, technology, engineering, and math that takes place a the Mississippi State Fair.

Understanding Seed Quality will describe how the cycle of life continues through the seed and that understanding the value of seed is the most important aspect of its survival.

This program was formerly Beginning Poultry—Information to Help You Raise Your Own Backyard Flock. This program will provide the necessary tools to establish and maintain the health and welfare of a backyard flock of chickens.

Be Red Cross Ready is a succinct emergency preparedness educational program for participants ages 16 and up, families, businesses, and community groups that better informs and educates clientele in a three-pronged approach to being better prepared by 1) building emergency supply kits and go kits, 2) developing emergency action plans and communication plans, and 3) staying informed regarding local risks and hazards.

This program provides youth with decision-making skills for investigating careers and college.

Beef Cattle Basics is a hands-on learning opportunity covering the general basics of beef production for “new” farmers and/or youth.

Choose Health: Food, Fun, Fitness (CHFFF) is an award-winning, comprehensive nutrition and fitness curriculum composed of six hands-on lessons.

The CPR and Basic First Aid class will cover CPR for all age groups, including Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and choking.

This program is designed to create leadership opportunities for youth interested in horses and horse education.

This is a simulation experience that utilizes an empathic approach to educate individuals on the age-related sensory and functional challenges that some older adults might face.

KEYS (Knowledgeable Engaged Youth Scholars) to Community will help youth understand how their county government operates, what their county government is trying to accomplish, how the actions of government affect their everyday life, and their responsibility to local government.

Kids in the Kitchen encourages young people to eat healthier meals and snacks as a result of hands-on cooking experiences.

Learn, Grow, Eat & Go! (LGEG) grows good kids through an interdisciplinary program combining academic achievement, gardening, nutrient-dense food experiences, physical activity, and school and family engagement.

The Mississippi StockShow Pro: Livestock Marketing Strategies for Youth will teach youth how oral communication skills, proper writing ability, and creative thinking are important in marketing livestock.

MyPI is a comprehensive youth preparedness program designed for teens that includes Teen CERT (Community Emergency Response Team), an Add-On catalog that features technology tracks, career tracks, CPR/AED certification, and a leadership and community service project.

The Poultry Avian Bowl Contest gives participants the opportunity to gain knowledge in different areas of the poultry industry. Through this team-based exercise, participants can demonstrate leadership, team building, and communication skills. The team with superior ratings at the state contest will advance to the national contest.

The Poultry Chain Project gives participants a hands-on learning experience right in their own backyard. In the Poultry Egg Chef Challenge, participants learn about the economic impact of the egg industry. They also develop and demonstrate leadership and communication skills through cooking demonstrations and presentations. The state winner of this contest is eligible to attend the national contest.

Poultry Hatch-Out is a week-long project with a science-based curriculum on poultry and the industry. This program is already in extensive use in schools throughout Mississippi.

Poultry Judging offers participants the opportunity to use USDA grading criteria and decision-making skills to judge ready-to-cook poultry products and live birds. State team winners are eligible to attend the national contest.

Prepare with Pedro is a youth preparedness program designed for ages 4-7 (grades K-2) that teaches children and families how to stay safe, be prepared, and take action during disasters and emergencies through fun activities such as crosswords, coloring pages, matching games, creative stories, and more.

Ready in the Middle is a youth preparedness initiative designed specifically for youth ages 10 to 19 and their families in Mississippi.

Safe Sitter® is designed to prepare students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. The instructor-led class is filled with fun games and role-playing exercises.
